Tips and Effective Techniques

Notes provide additional context for events, and tagging them helps you organize and locate them easily. Here are some tips for tagging your notes effectively:

For example, if you’re tracking your family’s driving license renewals, you could add a note like this:

have baby renew hers

However, tagging the note enhances its usefulness, allowing you to filter by tags in the dashboard. You could tag the note like this:

have #baby renew hers #family

Now, you can easily find all notes related to Sara’s driving license renewal by filtering for the #baby tag or #family for all events you’re tracking for your family.

Using tags to organize your notes is both convenient and straightforward. Here are some tips to optimize your tagging:

1. Prioritize Security

Avoid adding sensitive information, such as your passport number, to your notes. If you’re going to act on the event, you’ll have the details with you anyway. While Eznudge is secure, it is not a document vault. All you need is a reminder like, “Hey, this is important; get it done.”

Consider using aliases instead of names. For instance, instead of “Sara,” you could use “baby” or “wife.”

We do not ask for, need, capture, or use any of your sensitive personal information. We simply want to help you get things done—that’s it.

2. Use Descriptive Tags

When tagging your notes, choose descriptive tags that help you identify the note’s content easily. For example, use #family for notes related to your family, or specific family members like #mom or #dad. Avoid overusing tags, as this can make it harder to find the notes you seek. Here are a few suggestions:

  • #family
  • #kids
  • #work
  • #school
  • #business
  • #critical

3. Keep It Simple

Make your tags simple and easy to remember. For example, use #work rather than #mydailyworkplace.

4. Be Consistent

Consistency is crucial when tagging your notes. Ensure that you use the same tags for similar types of notes, so you can easily find related content. Consistency becomes easier when you limit the number of tags.

5. Use Multiple Tags

Feel free to use multiple tags for a single note. This approach helps you categorize your notes in various ways and makes them even easier to find. For example:

#health #family

6. Paid users: No need to use #important

When you add a deadline, use the ‘important?’ toggle to flag an event as important. We will then flag it in different parts of the eznudge experience, including adding it automatically as a #important to filter in the dashboard.
